At the Woodstock Market

I wanted to show you what I was busy doing today.

I am now consigning my tassels with Woodstock Market located in Woodstock, Ga. 

So, I went and got my tassels all prettied up and ready for the weekend.

They have created a gift area, and I think I got the best spot!!

I added a few Halloween tassels, pears and a cute rabbit

A few Christmas tassels and I am in love with these Fall tassels - they are so much fun!

Airplanes that look like they are ready to take off.....

I really was not sure what size tassels to bring, how big my area was going to be or how the display was set up. So, I may bring some more tassels this weekend and fill up some more spots.

So, say a little wish for me that Woodstock Market will have a great weekend!

And

I wanted to thank everyone who gave me some much needed advice on my new front porch light.

It will be painted black this weekend and updated pictures will follow!

New Porch Light leads to changes, or Does it?

I will admit it, I am not crazy about my front porch - no character, slightly boring.

I tend to look at the big things to change - columns, cornice, side lights. 

That I don't notice so much the things that I can easily change. 

While I was reading an article in Southern Living, 

it listed common mistakes that homeowners make. 

One that caught my attention is having a front porch light that is too small.

It's seems funny that I have never noticed this before.......

but indeed, mine was too small.

I started looking around and found this light at Lowe's - during a sidewalk sale for $10.00

 

It was HUGE........I was so excited, I grabbed it up and headed home.

 When I opened the box, I found the porch light was a taupe color with distressed edges. 

I really liked the color but not sure that it would go with my door.

I am hoping this might look better once my fall wreath is up.

So, I need your help my newest....bestest.....blogging friends

Should I :

 Paint my front door? If so, what color....gray, taupe, red, white...Oh my!

Paint the porch light black to match the door?

Or does it look okay......and I need to leave it alone, already?

Tablerunner turned shower curtain

Does anyone in your family take baths anymore? 

 

Have they gone out of style? 

 

During a recent bath remodel, 

 

we added a shower to our shower(less) bathroom.

 

We kept the old cast iron tub - which is super deep and in great shape.  

Before the remodel, the bathroom was very quaint with beadboard running from floor to ceiling wrapping all around the tub, (this was pre-blog so no pictures, sorry!) 

 

We knew this would have to be replaced with tile in the tub area, so we cut the beadboard out just around the tub and found the perfect tile at Home Depot.

The shower caddy came from Hobby Lobby. I love the black metal, it just fit the spot perfectly.

Also added another black metal piece from Hobby Lobby to store hair dryers, curling irons and brushes.

As you can tell, this is a very small bathroom - with no windows. That is one reason the pictures are not very good, the other reason is the photographer!

 

Anyway,

To add some height to this small bathroom, I wanted to hang the shower curtain higher,

 

but I wanted to use the shower curtain I already had which was your standard 72 X 72.

 

I cannot sew, so I knew I needed to find something that was already finished to add to the bottom of the shower curtain. I thought a valance would be great but never found one that would fit.

Then one day, I was looking at some items I had on my dining room table and the table runner was the perfect color I needed.

 

I got my tape measure and the table runner was - you guessed it........72 inches!

I used some heavy duty Heat n Bond I bought at Michael's to attach the table runner to the shower curtain. 

The fit was perfect and it added so much to this small bathroom.

 

It made the bathroom actually feel bigger by hanging the shower curtain higher.

I need to replace the shower rod and paint the wall cabinet, 

 

but for now this bathroom is back in style 

 

with it's very own shower.
