Great Lake Story: Chapter Two

Chapter Two of this year's Great Lake Story is out in Michigan Blue Magazine's fall issue! Joan and Scott Willet's journey to The Fairways at Harbor Shores continues as we hear a little more about the location and their possible new home, designed by Visbeen Associates, built by Falcon Custom Homes with interiors by Gallery Interiors.

A basket to hold Magazines

        I love to get free stuff....you know the kind of free stuff that you actually really like! 

Since I have been saving my coke rewards and entering the codes, 

I have earned enough reward points to get free magazines

such as:

Better Homes and Garden

Traditional Home

and

Country Living

along with the Southern Living magazine I order

 adds up to a lot of magazines each month.

Here is what my coffee table looked like before I got the basket

I really needed something to contain all those magazines!

So,

I bought this huge basket for $20.00 at the Woodstock Market,

 a beautiful Home Decor store in Woostock, Ga where I sell my Decorative Tassels, 

you can also find them through my Etsy store.

I love how I can add about 3 months worth of magazines and still look pretty good.

Isn't it funny how when you contain anything in a basket or tray,

it just looks better, 

Kinda, looks like I am more organized than I really am!

Old Plate with style

I needed something with a touch of red 

to finish up the plate wall in my bedroom, 

I found an old plate in storage at Mom's house 

 it was the perfect shape but had the old gold trim around the edges

So, what's a girl to do? 

I took a colored red pen and went right over the gold

It certainly is not perfect - but it works for me!

Here it is up on my wall

You really cannot tell that I colored outside the lines

I'm loving it! 

So, have you done anything crazy with a colored pen lately?

Railside Golf Club

One of our recent country club projects was a renovation of Railside Country Club in Byron Center, MI. Kensington Residence

Last year, we brought to your attention a LEED certified residence we designed in Grosse Pointe Park, MI called the Kensington. This beautiful infill design is now fully completed, so here are the finished photos. A few words about this design...

Who says they don’t make them like the used to? This charming Craftsman-inspired design, built to fit into an established city neighborhood but at home anywhere, proves otherwise. Double columns and three inset windows flank the entranceway, which leads into a classic Four-Square floor plan. The foyer, with its classic wooden staircase, leads to the living, dining and kitchen area on one side, and the den and hearth room on the other. The design and classic screened-in porch take its cues from the past, but the open kitchen and hearth room reflect today’s casual lifestyles. Upstairs is the master suite, four additional family bedrooms and three convenient baths.
