A letter from her Son

Looking through boxes at my Mom's house, I found an envelope from my Uncle to his Mother, at the time he was stationed at Fort Campbell in 1955.

The letter inside to my Nan was long gone, but I loved his handwriting and to know how special this was to my Nan that she kept it all these years.

I can just imagine how thrilled she was getting this in the mail knowing it was from her Son.

Both my Nan and my Uncle are no longer with us, my Uncle died shortly after this letter was written.

I loved my Nan so much and I love seeing her name so I had the envelope enlarged at Wolfe Camera to a 18x18 and framed it.

Update:  When you have a letter like this enlarged, don't scan it to enlarge it - take a picture of the letter with your camera and then have that enlarged. This will keep the integrity of the original letter.

Total cost was less than $20.00.

Now it proudly hangs in my living room and brings me joy everyday.

Storage in the Master Bathroom

This is my master bath

probably the smallest room in the entire house!

But I just love it.

It is me.......

I love the bead board ceiling and walls.

I love the hardwood floors that are original to the house.

I love all the nooks and crannies of an old house.

I took out a vanity in the small nook and my son built the shelves.

The vanity had three small drawers and that was the only storage in the bathroom.
Now with the open shelves and baskets - I have all the storage I need.

I just lined the top shelf with wallpaper and added plexi-glass to each shelf to allow the baskets to slide out without scuffing the paint.

I also turned one of the bigger baskets on it's side for the bath towels.

Remind me to fluff the bath towels next time I take a picture.

There is a square tub/shower to the right of this nook that is also original to the house.

It is always a treat to come in here!

Hope you enjoyed
my bathroom!

oregon trail.

It's a long-standing tradition for friends of Visbeen Associates to pose in front of famous monuments or natural wonders as they traipse the globe wearing our logo. That sundial has been proudly displayed on backs everywhere, from the Pyramids at Giza to the shores of the Pacific. Wayne traveled to Oregon last weekend, and climbed to Multnomah Falls in the Columbia River Gorge - sporting his Visbeen gear, of course. We had to share the shot.

Sunsweet Hill

The rich history and classic appeal of the ever-popular Shingle style is apparent in this four-bedroom design. A columned porch off the efficient kitchen and nearby laundry offers a wonderful place to enjoy your morning coffee, while the large screened porch is perfect for an alfresco meal. Other main floor features include the living room and den with two sided fireplace and a convenient bedroom off the entryway. Upstairs is the master bedroom, bunk room and two additional suites.

Mantel Headboard

Ahhh.....the master bedroom.

I still need to replace the nightstands and paint a dresser but this is my favorite room in the house.

One of the reasons is this huge fireplace headboard that came from the dump........can you believe it!

My Mom was unloading some wood scraps at our recycling center and noticed this fireplace propped against a stack of wood.

She ask the attendant if it belonged to anyone and he said nope, someone dropped it off because it was too big for their room.

He even helped her load it in the back of the truck.

She did not have anywhere to use it , so she gave it to me.
Mucho Gracias Mom!!

A little paint, padded with 3 pillows hung vertical and some leftover Waverly material.

And it is perfect!!
 I

So, although I would have liked for my bedroom to be perfect

before I let you guys have a sneak peek...........

Here's to my

so glad you stopped by!
Thanks,
